Kenny, a Doberman recovering from paralysis, has astounded everyone by regaining the ability to walk and run.
This came after a tragic accident in April 2023, when an employee at his retirement home accidentally dropped a metal gate on his neck, leaving the dog paralyzed and unable to move his front legs.
Experts at the time suggested euthanasia, believing Kenny would never regain normal mobility.

Kenny was around ten years old and resided at the Doberman Retirement Home in Los Angeles when the incident occurred.
Unsure of how to proceed, the shelter’s owner reached out to Leslie McMahon, who runs “Two Hands for Paws,” a rehabilitation center specializing in canine physical therapy.
Speaking to The Hartford Post, Leslie McMahon explained, “We immediately sent Kenny to a neurologist. When we realized we couldn’t afford the $10,000 for an MRI, I suggested we should try rehabilitation to see if he could learn to walk again.”

Helping Kenny move his tightly seized legs was no easy task, according to Leslie McMahon. But, she and her team were relentless in their efforts.
“We worked tirelessly for over a month, keeping his muscles active through swimming, massages, laser therapy, acupuncture, and supported walking exercises,” she explained.
At one point, it seemed like Kenny’s life was in danger, and they feared they would lose him.

However, upon learning about Kenny’s unfortunate accident, Annie Hart, founder of the Los Angeles-based animal rescue organization, The Ball Foundation, shared Kenny’s story on social media.
Annie told The Hartford Post that this campaign led to a remarkable $6,000 in donations in a single day, which would enable Kenny to potentially have surgery followed by an MRI.
Thanks to these collective efforts and support, Kenny has defied the odds and is now back on his feet.
