Aylin Erol, head of customer relations at Metro Istanbul, shared, “Two months ago, we noticed a dog trying to use our trams, metros, and trains, and he knows where to go and where to get out.”

Boji’s consistent travel routine piqued curiosity, leading to an endearing discovery of his purposeful travels.
Despite his free-spirited lifestyle, Boji’s welfare hasn’t gone unnoticed. One day, he was taken to a vet for a check-up, where he received a microchip before continuing his independent adventures.

Boji’s escapades haven’t gone unnoticed by Istanbul’s transit authorities. The Metro customer relations department closely monitors his movements, elevating his status to that of a local celebrity.
From eagerly boarding trains to leisurely napping on trams, Boji seamlessly blends into the daily rhythm of commuting.
Known for his impeccable manners, he gracefully yields to disembarking passengers and finds a cozy spot for himself onboard, earning admiration from fellow travelers.

Traversing approximately 18 miles daily and making stops at around 29 stations, Boji’s presence adds a unique charm to the city’s public transport system.
Passengers like Abdulkadir Yalçın express their delight, saying, “I think it’s wonderful. It adds joy to the subway. It makes us smile. It’s the first time I’ve encountered such a thing.”
