Ava, a puppy just 45 days old, faced a difficult start in life with her two injured hind legs. Her early days were spent covered in dirt and suffering from mange, making her existence quite challenging. Luckily, assistance arrived promptly to improve her situation.
Following her rescue, Ava underwent a thorough medical examination. It was discovered that she has a critically low red blood cell count at only 17%, necessitating medication to boost it. Additionally, she is dealing with issues related to her liver and kidneys and is also being treated for a blood parasite.
Nine days after receiving veterinary care, Ava showed signs of improvement. Her skin condition was getting better, and she became more active. Remarkably, she managed to stand on two hind legs and even walked using her left hind leg.
Thirteen days into her recovery, Ava’s foster caregiver shared the next steps in her treatment: taking her to a vet for an X-ray to check the condition of her bones. It was also important to monitor her stool and take her temperature during this period.
Over a month into her recovery journey, Ava has received comprehensive treatment for all her health issues. With a healthier body, she began to grow normally, and her fur transformed into a smooth and silky coat. Ava has blossomed into a lively and sociable puppy, enjoying the company of those who rescued her. Her journey of transformation has been remarkable.
