A lonely and frightened puppy was discovered in a dire situation, suffering from hunger and fear.
The rescue effort to save him was challenging, yet the relentless dedication of his rescuer ensured success.

Donna, a devoted member of Stray Rescue of St. Louis, was alerted to the plight of three puppies who were starving and living in dreadful conditions. Understanding the urgency, Donna quickly made her way to the location.
When she arrived, she spotted one of the puppies. The little dog was understandably scared and cautious of her presence. Donna approached him gently, trying to convey she meant no harm. Despite her efforts, the frightened pup growled and resisted when she attempted to attach a leash. With this in mind, Donna decided on a different approach and set up a food trap.

The enticing smell of food finally overcame the puppy’s fear, allowing Donna to safely place him in her car, providing her with a moment of relief knowing he was out of danger.
This puppy, who was later named Red Rooster, was the first of the trio to be rescued. With Red Rooster safely secured, Donna continued to search for the other puppies, but they remained out of reach. Her main focus, for the time being, was ensuring Red Rooster received the immediate care he needed.

At the animal shelter, it became evident that Red Rooster, though somewhat healthy, was severely undernourished. The shelter’s staff diligently worked to restore his health, providing him with the nourishment he had been lacking.
Once his health was restored, Red Rooster was put up for adoption. To everyone’s delight, he soon found a loving forever home where he is now thriving, enjoying the affection and care of his new family.

The rescue team continues their search for the other missing puppies, committed to bringing them to safety and care as well.
