They say that over time, a broken heart can heal. For dogs who have faced traumatic experiences, however, recovery can take a lifetime.

Although their wounds may heal, even the slightest reminder of their past can bring fear back to the forefront.

Such was the case for a tiny dog that found itself engulfed in fear when its owners abandoned it on a bustling city street, bound tightly to a pole. Left alone and defenseless, the small dog stood there hoping for a kind soul to notice and lend a hand.

As passersby hurried on, dozens walked by the terrified canine. While some paused to take a photo, not a single person stopped to help.

With an urgent need for assistance and no means to free itself, the dog remained stuck, its hope dwindling with each passing moment.

Just when it seemed all hope was lost, a rescuer arrived.

“He was there all night tied to that pole,” Hall shared in a Facebook post, expressing her disbelief at how many people had merely taken pictures without offering help.

With gentle determination, Hall untied the shivering dog, cradled it in her arms, and carried it to her car. The dog’s life was about to take a positive turn.

Hall softly stroked the dog’s head, offering calm reassurance and a promise of a better future. “I told him we would figure it all out,” Hall recounted in her post.

“The best part and my favorite part is he knew it was going to be ok, and fell asleep driving to my vet.”

As it rests and begins its journey towards healing, Hall and her team remain dedicated to aiding others in similar situations.

Unfortunately, cases of abandoned dogs in public areas are increasing, but each one deserves the compassion and kindness that this little pup received.
