On a quiet road in Georgia, two abandoned poodles held onto hope as they waited for their owners to return. Lying beside the road, watching cars speed by, they yearned for a familiar face to stop and rescue them.
As day turned to night, the poodles remained close, providing each other solace. Audray Luck, the founder of Luck’s Rescue, came upon the touching scene during her routine drive.
Despite her experiences in animal rescue, this new sight filled her with sorrow.

In this desolate area with no nearby homes, the poodles clung to each other. Luck stopped her car, equipped with her rescue kit, and approached the poodles gently, offering food.
Although the dogs were hungry and curious, they remained wary, darting away each time she tried to gain their trust.
Luck spent hours coaxing them, but as darkness fell, she had to reluctantly leave with a heavy heart. The thought of the black poodle, almost invisible in the night, stayed with her.
Returning at dawn, Luck was devastated to find the black poodle had been hit by a car, while her sister sat beside her lifeless body, unwilling to leave.

“Her sister didn’t leave her side and was waiting there by her, which was heartbreaking to see,” Luck shared with The Dodo.
Determined to save the remaining poodle, Luck set up her rescue trap once more. Within an hour, the poodle was caught.
Although trembling with fear, her new journey to safety had begun. Despite initial terror, Luck reassured the poodle, who was named Princess Anastasia, that she was safe now.
Princess Anastasia received a clean bill of health from the vet and soon moved into a foster home, where she began to thrive. In her new environment, her spirits lifted, and her playful nature returned.
Now, Princess Anastasia lives in a loving forever home, where she is cherished and content. While she may have lost her sister, she no longer faces the world alone, having found a joyous and peaceful life.
