It is not uncommon to encounter stray dogs trying to survive on bustling city streets. These animals often face harsh realities, lacking basic necessities like food, shelter, and love.
Recently, a heart-wrenching case unfolded in Southern California, highlighting the plight of three elderly dogs abandoned on the streets. Their only possessions were a worn-out blanket and an empty box intended to shield them from the harsh weather.
Local residents first spotted the dogs huddled under their meager shelter, seeking warmth. Although the community attempted to offer assistance, the frightened dogs kept their distance, hesitant to approach anyone.
Despite their fears, the dogs remained in the same spot for several days. The sympathetic residents provided food and water, hoping this gesture would encourage the dogs to eat.
Concerned for their well-being, a neighbor reached out to Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy in Irvine, California. Without delay, Suzette made her way to the scene.
She shared on Instagram, “There they were, shivering, huddled together on the blanket and box they were left with. Neighbors left food for them. They stayed in the exact spot for days. They were scared of human touch.”
The dogs were visibly traumatized. Whenever someone approached, they would flee, only to return soon after. Remarkably, their bond was unbreakable, and they stayed close to each other.
To rescue them, Suzette set up humane traps using tasty food. One dog was quickly lured in, but the reaction of the remaining two was touching.
They anxiously circled the trap, unwilling to leave their trapped sibling behind. Their loyalty was evident; they refused to be separated.
Understanding that companionship was their priority, Suzette carefully placed the caught dog inside her van and left the door open. As anticipated, the other two promptly joined their sibling, allowing Suzette to safely close the door.
“They were hesitant, but really wanted to be with their friend. I knew they would jump into my van, so after some time, they built up the courage and they jumped in. I quickly shut my door. I had them safe,” she recounted.
Suzette then took the trio to Camino Pet Hospital for evaluations. Despite suffering from significant dental issues, the dogs were in good health for their age.
Named Jacob, Naomi, and Adam, these dogs continue to display their sweetness by showing affection to everyone they meet. Suzette expressed her heartbreak over their abandonment, especially at a time when they needed their family the most.
Currently, the siblings are safe and being looked after, while they wait for a forever home that can accommodate their unyielding bond.
In the meantime, they demonstrate their gratitude with loving kisses, proving they would be wonderful companions for the right family.
