San Diego Zoo Safari Park is experiencing a delightful “baby boom” among its big cats, with six cheetah cubs and three tiger cubs captivating visitors as they grow and thrive.
Last November, a South African cheetah named Addisop delivered a record-breaking litter of six healthy cubs.

Then, in January, a Sumatran tiger named Joanne added to the excitement, welcoming three lively cubs.
Both mothers have shown exceptional care and dedication, helping their cubs flourish in the park’s nurturing environment.

The Safari Park’s team closely monitors the cubs, supporting their growth with enriching experiences that benefit the animals and visitors.
Addisop’s successful litter showcases the efforts of the Cheetah Breeding Center Coalition, a group of facilities working to sustain cheetah populations and protect the species from extinction.
Despite the challenges of raising a large litter, Addisop’s cubs are thriving under her attentive care. Each cheetah cub has its unique personality, adding to the joy of watching them play and develop.

Visitors can witness these playful young cheetahs honing behaviors that will eventually help them hunt and survive.
Joanne’s tiger cubs, meanwhile, are equally engaging, capturing audiences with their energetic antics.
The Safari Park offers a safe and stimulating environment that encourages the cubs’ growth into confident adults ready to explore their surroundings.

As these cheetah and tiger cubs continue to grow, they offer a glimpse into the incredible diversity of the animal kingdom and the critical role of conservation in preserving these majestic species for future generations.
