Adelaide Zoo is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. One of its top attractions includes the magnificent Sumatran Tigers, featuring the beautiful Delilah, Kembali, and their three adorable cubs.
Kembali, born in Hamilton Zoo, New Zealand, on November 16, 2014, has been a beloved resident of Adelaide Zoo since mid-2018.

Known for his gentle nature and hearty appetite, Kembali spends his days lounging in the bamboo of his enclosure and enjoys taking dips in the pond during warmer weather.
Delilah, a five-year-old female tiger, arrived at Australia Zoo on New Year’s Eve, 2021. In a heartwarming event, she gave birth to three lively tiger cubs on December 21, 2022.

This birth is significant for the conservation of Sumatran Tigers, as there are only about 400 remaining in the wild on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.
- Susu: Named “milk” in Indonesian, Susu is the quieter, more reserved female cub. She enjoys following her sister, Marni, and often interacts with her father, Kembali, through the mesh fence. Look for the distinctive two black ‘dots’ on her forehead.
- Ketambe: The male cub, Ketambe, is the largest of the trio and a true mama’s boy. He loves following Delilah and seeks her approval before playing with his sisters. Named after a village in Aceh, Ketambe can be identified by the vertical ‘fish hook’ marking on his forehead.
- Marni: This means “loyal and persistent” in Indonesian and “good” in Kaurna (the local Indigenous language). Marni is the smallest but most adventurous of the three. She is keenly interested in food and boasts triangular markings on her forehead with black flecks between her eyes.
On Friday, April 7, the trio made their public debut, delighting visitors with their playful antics and natural grace in their new habitat. Don’t miss seeing these majestic creatures up close at Adelaide Zoo.
