In Northern Romania, a dog named Indy found a second chance at life thanks to the compassion of a thoughtful tourist. Indy was discovered near a mountain resort hotel where the hotel owner had been driving her away, worried that her presence might alarm guests. Reports indicate that the owner instructed hotel staff not to feed any stray dogs.
Moved by Indy’s plight, a kind-hearted tourist decided to help her. Over several days, he provided food and water, and even brought a warm blanket and a crate to ensure Indy had a comfortable place to sleep during the frigid nights, where temperatures plummeted to -4°F.
This motivated tourist stayed by Indy’s side until he could ensure her safety. Although he wished to adopt her, he already had several pets and lacked the capacity for another. Determined to find Indy a safe home, he reached out to numerous dog rescue organizations and ultimately connected with Howl of a Dog, who agreed to take her in. Remarkably, the tourist drove 310 miles to transport Indy from the mountain resort to the shelter, exceeding the organization’s expectations.
Now, Indy is on the lookout for a permanent home. Observations from the shelter suggest Indy’s previous owners might have kept her chained and isolated, evident from her unfamiliarity with toys and poor dental condition. Despite these challenges, Indy is in good health, friendly, and would make a great companion.
If you have the means to offer Indy a loving, stable home, please consider adopting from Howl of a Dog, which facilitates international adoptions to the USA, European countries, and Canada. If adopting isn’t feasible, sharing Indy’s story could help her find the home she deserves. For more information on Indy, you can find details here.
