We first discovered Rosa in a heartbreaking state—weak, unresponsive, and on the brink of consciousness. She was severely malnourished and dehydrated, tipping the scales at a mere 28 pounds compared to her once robust figure.
Her skeletal frame bore witness to the neglect she endured, with open sores on her legs illustrating her dire condition.
Abandoned and isolated, Rosa had been deprived of basic necessities like food and water for an alarming stretch of days. Infections ravaged her body, with glimpses of bone visible—a sight that profoundly moved us all.
Rosa’s situation was critical, yet we believed she deserved a chance at life. We hurried her to the hospital, clinging to the hope that with the right medical care, she might recover.

Our immediate focus was on providing her with intensive treatment—hydration, antibiotics, pain relief, and temperature regulation to help stabilize her fragile state.
The following 48 hours were crucial, and we held our breath, hoping she would make it through the night. While the details of her past remained unclear, it was evident she had suffered from intense neglect.
Her frailty and malnutrition painted a picture of a long and uncertain road to recovery.
In those initial days, there was little more we could do than wait and hope for the best. Rosa could scarcely lift her head, let alone move. However, amidst her feebleness, a glimmer of resolve shone in her eyes—a silent will to survive.

We all yearned for a miracle, providing her with top-notch care while hoping she would rally. Each hour brought renewed hope that she might find the strength to overcome this ordeal.
To our utter delight, merely days later, Rosa began to stand. Though a small feat, it was a significant milestone in her healing process. Witnessing her tentative first steps was nothing short of exhilarating.
Even though she remained fragile, her improvement was evident. I visited her at the hospital, and seeing her move with a newfound strength was incredibly moving. Both Rosa and her dedicated team refused to give up.
Soon, Rosa’s weight climbed to an impressive 48 pounds—a remarkable transformation. Her body, once frail, was steadily regaining strength, and her legs were healing visibly.

Despite the journey ahead, her progress surpassed our expectations. After nearly two months of intensive care, Rosa was evolving into a vibrant, healthy, and joyous dog once more.
I am immensely grateful for the exceptional team of veterinarians and supporters who played a crucial role in her recovery. Rosa’s journey is a testament to the impact of compassion, care, and perseverance.
She is truly deserving of every moment of her newly bright future. We commit to supporting her every step of the way, ensuring her life going forward is filled with love and health.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in Rosa’s journey. Her story embodies hope and resilience, and it was made possible because of your unwavering support.
